Separate a starting point, a duration and a deadline

Seit wann, wie lange und bis wann?

Read overlapping time limits without turning a limited schedule into an unstated completion date.

Seitdem points back to the opening that began the current arrangement. Solange ties use of the replacement room to the ongoing renovation. Bis 20:00 limits daily occupancy, whereas spätestens 19:30 sets the latest start of tidying. The published plan ends on Friday, but that is not a confirmed end to construction. A future message is conditional on confirmation, not evidence that confirmation has already arrived.

Seitdem der Ersatzraum geöffnet wurde, treffen wir uns dort.

Since the replacement room opened, we have been meeting there.

Solange die Arbeiten laufen, bleibt diese Regel maßgeblich.

While the works continue, this rule remains applicable.

Die Gruppe darf bis zwanzig Uhr bleiben.

The group may stay until eight in the evening.

Spätestens um neunzehn Uhr dreißig beginnt das Aufräumen.

Tidying starts no later than half past seven in the evening.

Der Wochenplan bestätigt keinen Abschluss der Renovierung.

The weekly timetable does not confirm completion of the renovation.

Sobald die Rückkehr bestätigt ist, informieren wir die Gruppen.

As soon as the return is confirmed, we will inform the groups.

Read overlapping time limits without turning a limited schedule into an unstated completion date.

Do not equate the start of tidying with departure, or the final day printed on a timetable with the end of the underlying temporary arrangement.

Distinguish seitdem as a starting relation, solange as a duration relation, and bis as an endpoint. Spätestens gives a latest permitted time and includes that time; frühestens gives an earliest time. Do not infer an exact date from a condition whose end is unknown.

Write a 250–300-word German notice explaining the temporary arrangements. Separate the initial opening, renovation-dependent duration, 19:30 tidying deadline and 20:00 handover. Correct both misunderstandings and specify which confirmation is still missing.
