Recognise a position and test it fairly
Eine Position erkennen und fair prüfen
Explain a qualified argument, distinguish expectation from observation and formulate a fair objection.
An argumentative text can reject an equation without rejecting either of the things being equated. Here the author challenges the equation of urban liveliness with loudness, not festivals as such. The proposal has limited days and a trial character. The resident’s predicted attitude is a reason to investigate, not a measured effect. Reconstruct the strongest version of the position before objecting; otherwise the reply attacks a view the author has not expressed.
This does not mean that every sound should disappear.
Die Erwartung ist noch kein beobachtetes Ergebnis.
The expectation is not yet an observed result.
The objection targets a simplistic equation.
The criteria should be agreed before the trial.
I share the concern but doubt the proposed solution.
A limited measure must not be presented as a general ban.

Do not turn a limited trial into a total prohibition, a predicted benefit into an observed result, or criticism of one measure into rejection of all city life.
Nicht X, sondern Y corrects the focus of an objection. Wer …, der … can formulate a general condition; it is not statistical evidence. Ein solcher Versuch refers back to a time-limited trial, not an approved permanent ban.
Write a 250–300-word German response. Summarise the author’s position in two sentences, develop one serious objection and propose two evaluation criteria. Label your own proposal clearly and preserve the limited scope of the trial.
