Umtauschen means exchange; zurückgeben means return. Do not assume both words always mean a refund. Use weil to give a reason, with the conjugated verb last: weil der Reißverschluss kaputt ist. Zu klein means too small, not simply small. A shop reply may offer a repair or a later collection date. Read the exact offer before accepting.
