Separate a claim, its reason and its evidence
Behauptung, Begründung und Beleg
Read a proposal critically and distinguish what the evidence supports from what remains an assumption.
A convincing argument makes its steps visible: a claim says what should happen, a reason explains why, and evidence gives the reader something checkable. A plausible explanation is not yet evidence of a causal effect. In a proposal, distinguish observed behaviour, reported opinions and predicted benefits. A comparison is informative only when you know what was compared and what else changed. Use Das spricht dafür, dass … for support that is relevant but not conclusive; Daraus lässt sich nicht ableiten, dass … limits an inference. A limitation need not destroy a proposal: it can justify a smaller trial with a stated success criterion. Match the strength of the conclusion to the strength of the source.
One argument for longer hours is that working people could use the library later.
The evaluation concerns a four-week trial.
Visitor numbers rose without learning success being measured.
That suggests demand but does not prove learning success.
It cannot be inferred from this that the measure works everywhere.
A limited trial would be defensible provided the costs are reviewed.

Do not turn more visitors into proven learning success. These are different outcomes; ohne dass does not mean because.
Claim → relevant reason → specified evidence → limitation → proportionate recommendation. A correlation alone does not establish its cause.
Write 180–220 German words to a library committee proposing longer opening hours. Use the supplied trial as evidence, explain one alternative explanation, acknowledge costs and define a measurable condition for continuing. Check claim, source, limitation and conclusion separately.
