Short, clear phrases help at work. Learn the names of shifts, ask when work starts, and use “Können Sie … bitte?” for a polite request.
Ich habe Frühschicht.
I have the early shift.
Ich habe Spätschicht.
I have the late shift.
Ich habe Nachtschicht.
I have the night shift.

Die Pause ist um zehn Uhr.
The break is at ten o’clock.

I am finished.

Use direct questions and short statements at work: Was soll ich machen? Wo ist …? Ich bin fertig. Noch einmal, bitte.
These phrases let you clarify a task instead of guessing when instructions are unclear.
Do not pretend that you understood. Ask “Noch einmal, bitte” or say “Ich brauche Hilfe.”
