Regular verbs in the present tense
For regular verbs such as lernen, the verb stem stays stable and the ending changes with the subject: ich lerne, du lernst, er/sie/es lernt, wir lernen, ihr lernt, sie/Sie lernen.
Start with the infinitive, for example lernen. Remove -en to get the stem lern-, then add the ending that matches the subject.
The basic endings in this topic are: ich -e, du -st, er/sie/es -t, wir -en, ihr -t, sie/Sie -en.
Names follow the same person pattern as pronouns: Ben = er, Mia = sie, and Anna und Ben = sie in the plural.
In a yes/no question, the conjugated verb comes first: Du wohnst in Bonn. → Wohnst du in Bonn? The ending still matches du.
Formal Sie uses the same present form as sie in the plural: Lernen Sie Deutsch? Wohnen Sie in Bonn?
This topic deliberately practises regular verbs whose stems take these basic endings directly. German also has stem-changing verbs and spelling adjustments; those are separate patterns and should not be guessed from this table.
Ich lerne Deutsch.
Du wohnst in Berlin.
Ben kocht heute.
Wir machen eine Pause.
