Zuerst und dann

Describe a short sequence using zuerst, dann and danach with the verb in second position.

Say what happens first and what follows. In Zuerst frühstücke ich, the time word comes first, the verb second and ich after the verb. Use the same pattern with dann and danach. These two words can both link a later action; they do not have fixed step numbers. Review the ich forms frühstücke, gehe and lerne. In the dialogue, Was machst du zuerst? asks for the first action; Und dann? asks what follows. Du is used between the two practice partners.

Build the statement as time word + verb + ich + other information: Danach lerne ich Deutsch. Second position means the second part of the sentence, not always the second written word.
