Ich brauche Hilfe bei der Arbeit.

I need help at work.

Polite Sie-questions use the conjugated verb before “Sie”: Können Sie …? Statements keep the verb in position two: Ich verstehe nicht.

These repair phrases keep a conversation going even when your German is still limited.

Use a verb that fits the request. “wiederholen” means repeat; “arbeiten” means work.

Your rescue sequence: Entschuldigung → Ich verstehe nicht → Bitte wiederholen / langsamer sprechen.
