In the shop

Im Geschäft

Ask where a product is, ask whether it is available, and understand a short shop reply.

This lesson builds on the price/payment language from L06 without repeating the same quiz. The new skill is finding products and asking availability with „Ich suche …“, „Haben Sie …?“ and „Wo finde ich …?“.

Ich suche Milch.

I’m looking for milk.

Haben Sie Brot?

Do you have bread?

Wo finde ich Wasser?

Where can I find water?

Das ist hier.

It is here.

Das ist dort.

It is over there.

Haben Sie noch Reis?

Do you still have rice?

Nein, leider nicht.

No, unfortunately not.

Das ist alles, danke.

That is all, thank you.

Choose the frame by purpose: „Ich suche Milch.“ says what you are looking for, „Haben Sie Brot?“ asks availability, and „Wo finde ich Wasser?“ asks location.

Use these short frames in supermarkets, pharmacies, stationery shops, and other stores.

Do not swap „hier“ (here) and „dort“ (there), and keep the fixed question order in „Wo finde ich …?“.

Keep three anchors: „Ich suche …“ · „Haben Sie …?“ · „Wo finde ich …?“

Role-play two products: one is available and one is not.
